VStream aimed to surpass competitors by empowering viewers/consumers with a voice beyond live streams and consolidating diverse content types into a single platform. Here are a few features that emerged from this idea.
Social First Homepage - Where fans fuel the conversation
VStream aims to prioritize social engagement, seamlessly integrating streaming by designing our homepage to highlight social posts alongside recommendations for live streams, popular streamers, and trending communities. Creating the ability to create social posts was huge for fans and gave them a voice.
Communities - gathering points for creator support
I spearheaded the development of community spaces on VStream, creating dedicated areas for conversations to persist beyond live streams. We enabled streamers to claim these hashtag-based communities, granting them the authority to moderate and tailor their communities as they see fit.
Streaming - the never ending ride
VStream enhances viewer engagement with features like chat, donations, and subscriptions, along with streamer channel tabs for in-depth insights and the "Meteor Shower" function for easy stream-to-stream navigation, all initiated by streamers.
Explore - All content, everywhere, all at once
VStream offers a wide range of content types such as pictures, live streams, VODs, clips, communities, creators, and merchandise. Our explore page, inspired by Mirai, features a smart algorithm that adjusts row heights to ensure all content and art are fully displayed without being cut off.
Creating a monetization ecosystem
Fans need to support streamers, we developed features allowing consumers to support creators directly, including subscriptions, live chat donations, and pay-per-view video purchases.
